How Much Do Budget Uganda Safaris Cost?
Most of our budget Uganda safaris start from US$150 per person per day, based on two or more people sharing. The final price depends on group size, season, the lodges you choose and the permits you add. Gorilla and chimp permits are paid on top, as they are fixed government fees.

Seeing Gorillas on Budget Uganda Safaris

- Start from Kigali. The drive from Kigali to southern Bwindi takes about four to five hours, so a 2-day gorilla safari from Kigali is possible

10 Ways to Save on Budget Uganda Safaris
- Travel in the low season. April, May and November bring cheaper gorilla permits and lodge discounts.
- Travel as a group. The vehicle, fuel and driver cost the same for one person or six.
- Choose nearby parks. Combining Kibale and Queen Elizabeth, or Lake Mburo and Bwindi, cuts long drives.
- Avoid backtracking. A circular route saves fuel and a day of driving.
- Start from Kigali for gorillas. Southern Bwindi is closer to Kigali than to Entebbe.
