- Queen Elizabeth National Park
Queen Elizabeth National Park is Uganda’s most famous wildlife safari destination. The park features high biodiversity plains of savannah, bushland, lush forests, swamps, lakes and rivers and water channels. Queen Elizabeth National Park is home to over 90 species of mammals which include lions and tree climbing lions, leopards, elephants, buffalos, hippos, hyenas, among others and primates most notably the chimpanzees in Kyambura Gorge which are well habituated and ready for visitors to track. - Murchison Falls National Park
Murchison Falls National Park is Uganda’s largest and oldest national park, it features a diverse, palm-dotted savanna where a range of 76 species of mammals and 451 bird species inhabit. The River Nile-World’s longest river bisects Murchison falls national park into the southern banks and the northern part of the park. Most of the wildlife in the park is found in the northern part and along the water shores of the Nile such animals include; lions, Rothschild giraffes, cape buffaloes, crocodiles, hyenas, African elephants, hippopotamuses, and aquatic birds are permanent locals. Famous people have visited this park and this tells why its is Uganda’s most rewarding wildlife safari destination. Some of the prominent people who have visited the park include; Winston Churchill, Theodore Roosevelt, and Ernest Hemingway among others.
- Kidepo Valley National Park
Kidepo Valley National Park is Uganda’s most beautiful park located in the semi-arid valleys of northern Uganda in the great East African Lift Valley bordering Kenya in the East and South Sudan in the North. Also referred to as the wild frontiers of Uganda, Kidepo Valley National Park is home to over 77 mammal species and 475 bird species. Its is perhaps Uganda’s most isolated national park but with of course the best views of wildlife in the country. This finest Africa`s wilderness park features vast savannah landscapes all of which allow the breathtaking views of wildlife even from across the plains. Some of the wildlife to encounter on a game drive in Kidepo Valley National Park include; lions, buffalos and leopards among others and the biggest bird on earth, the ostrich which is only found here in the whole country of Uganda.
In 2013 Cable News Network (CNN) ranked Kidepo Valley National Park as third among the finest wildernesses in Africa.
- Lake Mburo National Park
Lake Mburo National Park is situated in the central region part of the country, Uganda. The park is one of its kind as it is the smallest Savannah National Park with a unique game viewing site with beautiful flora and fauna worth visiting. What makes it special is that tourists can explore wildlife by foot unlike other wildlife parks in Uganda. The different wildlife animal species include leopards, zebras, oribi, reedbuck’s hyena, waterbucks, cape buffalos, topi impalas, hippopotamuses ‘elands, and cape buffalos among others.
