Entebbe town is the gateway to the national parks of Bwindi Impenetrable, Queen Elizabeth, Murchison Falls, Kibale Forest, and Lake Mburo, as well as to Rwenzori. But, if you have any spare hours, or you are here for a longer stay, there are a variety of local attractions to enjoy.

Entebbe itself is full of markets, shops, and eateries! It is also very close to Lake Victoria, the world’s second largest freshwater lake, which offers wildlife viewing, sport fishing, and scenic boat cruises.

You can choose to explore the lush Botanical Gardens too. These gardens are home to the beautiful black-and-white colobus monkeys, colourful Uganda birds, and several plant species.

The Uganda Wildlife Education Centre (UWEC) is well worth a visit, as is Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Sanctuary and Mabamba Bay Swamp, the most convenient and reliable place to see the pre-historic like shoebill birds.
