Details Of 2 Day Queen Elizabeth Safari

Day 1: Travel To Queen Elizabeth National Park

Your 2 Day Queen Elizabeth Safari begins today. You will be picked up from Kampala or Entebbe at about 6 am. You will be driven southwest to Queen Elizabeth National Park.

This will be a journey of approximately (417 km) 7 hours. You will travel through amazing countryside with beautiful landscape and landmarks. You will make a brief stop at the equator crossing in Kayabwe (near Masaka) to allow you stretch your legs. Uganda is one of the few countries on the planet where you can cross this imaginary geographical line on land.

Observe how water swirls in opposite directions on either side of the equator and take some photos. After that, continue your journey westward. Watch out for the amazing landscape consisting of endless savanna, large farms of the long-horned Ankole cattle and local people going about their daily business.

Lunch will be in the town of Mbarara or another location depending on how the trip goes. You will reach the park around early in the afternoon. You will check into your hotel if time allows or go straight to the Mweya jetty for a 2 hour leisurely boat cruise starting at 2 pm. Taking a boat ride on the Kazinga channel is a real must-do activity when visiting Queen Elizabeth National Park.

It will give you the chance to cruise just metres from hundreds of hippos and African Buffalo, while African Elephants and Nile crocodiles linger on the shoreline, along with waterbirds (including African Skimmer, Pink-backed and Great White Pelican, White-breasted Cormorant, African Openbill, Saddle-billed Stork, Glossy Ibis, African Wattled Lapwing, Water Thick-knee, Grey-hooded Gull, and White-winged and Gull-billed Tern).

It is an incredible wildlife experience being so close to all these fantastic creatures from the comfort of the boat, with the stunning park all around us adding to the memories we will have of this cruise. After the boat cruise you will do a short game drive along the channel track as you head back to the lodge. You will relax and have dinner.
