Day 2: Backwaters of Bangkok & Temples

Post a scrumptious breakfast, as perusal of our 7 Days Holiday in Thailand tour package; we will take you on one of Thailand’s long-tail boats, a type of watercraft originating in Asia and built specifically for river travel. Cruise down Chao Phraya, Bangkok’s main river. Take in the wonderful morning views of the city skyline before entering the canals or khlongs.

Often referred to as the “Venice of the East,” the khlongs offer an insight into a more traditional  Thai lifestyle style, with wooden stilt houses, clothing drying in the sun, and Thai music filling the air. Your first stop will be the temple of Wat Khun Chan, where the postmodern temples will inspire you on one side and the feeling of the old days on the other, all intersected by the beauty of the river itself.

From there, you continue to Artist Village, with its old wooden walkways, barber shop, vintage posters, and a small stupa (shrine). You will have a chance to stop and feed holy catfish, who will surface in the hundreds to enjoy a snack! You river adventure will end with lunch near the pier.

After lunch, you will visit two of Bangkok’s most important sightseeing landmarks. Established in 1782, the Grand Palace consists of a number stunning examples of Thai architecture that you will be able to explore, including the Temple of the Emerald Buddha, which is considered to be one of Thailand’s most sacred temples. After the tour, you’ll be free to walk around Bangkok’s Old Town or make your way back to your hotel for overnight stay.

Day 3: Bangkok: Enjoy your Free Day

Have a fulfilling breakfast, and as per this 7 Days Holiday in Thailand tour package, it’s time to enjoy the day in Bangkok. You have a chance to explore the city at your own pace, taking in the sights and sounds of this bustling city. Hop in a tuk-tuk and let yourself be carried away by all that Bangkok has to offer!

You can commence your day with a visit to Lumphini Park, situated in the city center. This is quiet haven of greenery and perfect respite from the city’s decidedly urban vibe. Here, there is a man-made lake in the middle that offers swan-shaped paddle boat rentals.

From there, you can head over to Chinatown for amazing restaurants, food stands, and fun souvenir shops. If your free day happens to fall on a weekend, you won’t want to miss the Chatuchak Weekend Market. With over 15,000 stalls, it is one of the world’s largest outdoor markets, and you can eat and shop to your heart’s content. In the evening, you will return to your hotel for a good night’s rest before the next leg of your journey, Phuket.

Arise to a beautiful morning, enjoy a hearty breakfast and get ready for the next part of your adventure on the island of Phuket. Located approximately 500 miles (867km) south of Bangkok, Phuket is known for its blue waters, sandy beaches, and secluded coves.

It is also encircled by numerous smaller islands that make for great day trips, including the nearby Phi-Phi Islands, Ko Hong, and Ko He. You will take a 1.5-hour flight to the island, and your guide will trnsfer you to your hotel. After check-in, the day is yours. If you would like some sun and fun, spend the afternoon at Kalim or Freedom beaches, popular with tourists and locals alike.

Here, you will explore the beauty and serenity of the hongs, Thai for “rooms,” which are actually sinkholes within the cliffs and are only accessible through the sea caves.

The cliff-lined lagoons host a variety of wildlife such as water monitors, macaques, sea eagles, Brahminy kites and kingfishers—so keep your eyes peeled!

As the light fades, you will find yourself floating in the hongs in your own self-made flower krathong, where you can experience the natural light show created by bio-luminescent plankton. The tour concludes with a delightful buffet dinner before you return to your hotel for the evening.

Day 6: Free Day in Phuket

For your final full day in Phuket, you are again free to pursue any activities you would like. You can start with an excursion to Karon View Point, where you will see the whole city laid out in front of you and photo-worthy vistas of Phuket’s beaches.
