Activities You Can Do While Staying At Airport Guesthouse

Plenty of exciting activities are available from Airport Guesthouse Entebbe

You could start by taking a half-day fishing on Lake Victoria, and perhaps end the excursion with a sunset boat cruise on this world’s biggest tropical lake.

The beautiful Entebbe Botanical Gardens are close by the lake and contains over 300 varieties of exotic plants. Here you can also spot many Uganda birds and also admire the striking black-and-white colobus monkeys (look out for their furry tails as they dart expertly from tree to tree). The rainforest zone of these gardens was the location used during the filming of the original 1940 Hollywood classic, Tarzan. The gardens also host interesting events throughout the year.

An excursion to the Uganda Wildlife Education Centre will appeal to all wildlife lovers – here, animals rescued from illegal traders or poachers, or found with injuries in the wild, are looked after until they are well enough to return to their natural habitat. Visitors can enjoy a general tour as well as a few specials such as ‘Chimpanzee Close-up’ and ‘Keeper for a Day Experience’.

Other activities include visiting the Jane Goodall Institute’s Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Sanctuary, sunset boat cruises on the lake, or exploring the Mabamba Swamp in search of the fascinating and rare shoebill stork.

Travel farther afield and you can check out the East Africa’s adventure capital Jinja, and even Lake Victoria’s gorgeous Ssese Islands. Entebbe also has a well-maintained golf course embraced by exotic trees.
