Plains Zebras in Lake Mburo National Park

Safari Overview

This 3 Days Lake Mburo Safari & Igongo Cultural Centre Tour gives you the chance to experience one of the country’s most beautiful savannas.

Lake Mburo National Park is about a three to four hour drive from Kampala, making it Uganda’s closest park to the capital.

It is the smallest of Uganda’s savannah parks, but it boasts an incredible variety of wildlife, beautiful scenery, and its small size means you can access various areas of the park easily and discover a lot of what it can offer in a short time.

The park is great for grazing animals.

The common animals to be seen on the day safari in Lake Mburo Park include Buffalos, zebras, impala, giraffes, warthogs, bushbucks, eland, and Topi.

There is only one lion in the park which is never seen (sometimes heard), however other predators like leopards and hyenas are abundant. And you stand a better chance of sighting these if you do a night safari.

The biggest lake in the park, Lake Mburo, is home to hippos and crocodiles. Several water birds including the rare African Finfoot can also be sighted from the boat cruise on Lake Mburo.

On this 3 Days Safari, you will also tour to explore the cultural museum which has a collection of Art crafts and Photos that represent Norms, Customs and Traditions and the history of the people of South Western Uganda.
