Your amazing 6-day Tanzania Safari will start as soon as you touch down at the Kilimanjaro International Airport in northern Tanzania. This airport is not called the – Gateway to Africa’s Wildlife Heritage – for nothing; you are close to some of the best-known wildlife reserves in the world.

You’ll be met by our company representative, who will pack your bags in our comfortable vehicle and transfer you to a hotel in Arusha city, less than an hour away. Dubbed the safari capital of Tanzania, Arusha is located on the southern slopes of Mount Meru, close to the snow-capped Mount Kilimanjaro.

The city is close to Serengeti, Ngorongoro, Lake Manyara, Tarangire and Arusha National Parks. It was built by the Germans as a center of colonial administration due to its temperate climate. It’s also a major international diplomatic hub and has been a very important city in Tanzania’s history. It was also the setting for the 1962 film Hatari!, starring the legendary John Wayne.

You’ll have dinner at the hotel tonight and also learn a bit about Tanzania. This fantastic country is one of the best safari destinations in the world, boasting some of the best game reserves on Earth. Learn more about this park as you look for the wonderful wildlife. Tarangire is a lovely quiet park off the beaten safari track. This beautiful park is known for its giant baobab trees, shimmering swamps, sweeping vistas, tree-climbing pythons, and some of the largest elephant populations in Tanzania.

You cannot spend time here without seeing African elephants, feeding at the base of a baobab tree, strolling g through the riverine forests or playing in the mud of the marshes. They’re often encountered in huge herds of about 300 animals – an incredible sight for even the most seasoned safari-goers.

Elephants aside, Tarangire has one of the greatest concentrations of wildlife outside Serengeti. The dry season influx of herbivores sees a profusion of wildebeests, hartebeests, zebras, gazelles, elands, giraffes and buffalos near river and around residual pools. Such profusion of prey attracts the attention of predators – mainly lions. Tarangire lions are renowned, not only for their marshy hunting techniques, but also for their habit of climbing trees.

Leopards, cheetahs, and the painted wolves of Africa, endangered wild dogs are also present. Tarangire is also the one place in Tanzania where dry-country antelope such as Fringe-eared Oryx and Gerenuk are often seen. Bird lovers will be mesmerized by over 550 species.

The caldera is surrounded by very steep walls rising 600 meters above the 260 square kilometer floor.

Ngorongoro Crater is also one of the 7 Natural Wonders of Africa. Sometimes referred to as ‘the 8th wonder of the world’, it is best known for its breathtaking natural beauty and abundant wildlife. The grasslands on the crater floor contain almost 30,000 large mammals.

Ngorongoro is the best place in Africa to see all the members of the Big 5 in one place. Most of the animals here are very relaxed and habituated to the presence of humans and vehicles, and the cloud-draped crater walls make for dramatic pictures and memories.
