Day 1: Kampala to Murchison Falls National Park
Start your day with an early breakfast before our guide picks you up from your Kampala hotel at 7:30 am. You’ll travel northwest through the renowned Luwero Triangle and Masindi Town, stopping for lunch at Kabalega diners. Upon entering Murchison Falls National Park, visit the top of the falls to witness the Nile’s dramatic transformation as it narrows from 50 meters to a 6-meter gorge, plunging 40 meters with a thunderous roar. Enjoy an evening game drive en route to Pakuba Safari Lodge for dinner and an overnight stay. (Mid-range, Half-Board)
Day 2: Game Drive and Nile Boat Ride
Embark on a morning game drive via the Nyamsika plateau, where you might spot some of the Big Five, including elephants, lions, buffaloes, and giraffes, along with warthogs, bushbucks, waterbucks, and hartebeests. After breakfast and lunch at the lodge, prepare for a boat trip on the serene Victoria Nile, heading upstream to the base of the falls. Along the way, you’ll see hippos, crocodiles, waterbucks, and a variety of birds such as pelicans, bee-eaters, egrets, kingfishers, eagles, weaver birds, and herons. Day 3: Delta Boat Cruise and Afternoon Game Drive
After breakfast, take a boat to the delta area of Murchison Falls National Park. The Nile Delta boat cruise provides a chance to see wildlife like buffaloes, elephants, crocodiles, hippos, and the rare shoebill stork. Observe the Nile slowing down as it deposits sediment before entering Lake Albert. Day 4: Chimp Tracking and Transfer to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary
After an early breakfast, cross the ferry at 7:00 am to Budongo, where you’ll receive a briefing on chimp tracking. An experienced ranger guide will lead you through the forest, where you might spot various bird species. Spend up to an hour with the chimpanzees for an unforgettable experience. After lunch at the lodge, transfer to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, checking in at Amuka Lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 5: Rhino Tracking and Departure
Begin your day with an early breakfast before embarking on a rhino-tracking walk at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, home to Uganda’s remaining rhino population. The sanctuary aims to conserve rhinos and eventually reintroduce them to other parks in Uganda. After your rhino tracking experience, return to the lodge for lunch, then proceed back to Kampala, marking the end of your tour.
